A pastor, overseer, or elder is a MAN who has a “special calling from God and a special gift which is given to him in order to perform the work of ministry; one whose role and character are exhibited as defined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and expressed in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.  He is a shepherd-leader; “one of service and obedience, guiding and guarding the people under the authority of the Supreme Shepherd”. 

A church planter is a man as defined above who diligently and intentionally grows the kingdom by planting and serving new mission churches. 

One who may or may not be a pastor, but in whom the qualities of a follower of Christ are exemplified.  The small group leader guides the small group towards the formation of a church or church plant that will follow the leadership of a pastor or church planter.
